SUMMARY:2-day Oar Making Workshop – Instructor: Mike Bretner
DESCRIPTION:This hands-on workshop guides participants through the process 
 of crafting a traditional wooden oar from start to finish. Participants wi
 ll learn about oar design\, layout\, balance\, and blade shape\, then use 
 hand tools such as planes\, spokeshaves\, and rasps to shape their oar. Th
 e course includes instruction on fairing\, sanding\, and finishing techniq
 ues to ensure strength\, durability\, and comfort in use.\n\nNo prior expe
 rience is required. Participants will leave with a completed oar and a sol
 id foundation in traditional woodworking and boat-related tool skills.\n\n
 Skill level: Beginner to intermediate\n\nOutcome: One finished wooden oa
